This first song, Adagio is from the new album by Greek musician Σtella. It is her fifth album and was written and recorded over a period of 5 years. I love the combination of the passionate harmonies sung over the bossanova beat and the almost whimsical keyboard and guitar riffs. The video is pretty cool too.
To pair with this I've chosen a song which is hard to believe is from over 17 years ago. It's If I ever feel better by Phoenix. The guitars in the chorus are particularly lush. This also features a sample from a 1979 Jazz song by Toshiyuki Honda called Lament which brings us back full circle to Adagio by Σtella as it shares a similar beat. To top it off the video features the classic combination of motorbikes and greek statues, what's not to love about that!
